The dry seasons (June–September and December–February) offer the easiest trekking conditions and peak wildlife viewing, especially for gorilla trekking and safari game drives.
The wetter months bring lush scenery, fewer crowds, and lower rates - great for birdwatching and a quieter experience. We can help you pick the right window based on what you want to see.
Do I need a visa for Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, or Rwanda?
Most nationalities need a visa to enter these countries, and many are available online in advance or on arrival.
East Africa also offers a joint East Africa Tourist Visa covering Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda on a single entry. We'll confirm exact requirements for your nationality and itinerary when you book.
How far in advance should I book a safari?
We recommend booking 3–6 months ahead, especially for gorilla trekking permits, which are limited and sell out during peak season. Custom multi-country itineraries and larger groups benefit from even more lead time.
Can I modify or cancel my booking?
Yes - changes and cancellations are possible up to a set number of days before your trip start date, though certain costs like gorilla permits and park fees may be non-refundable once secured. We'll walk you through the specifics for your itinerary before you confirm.
How many travelers can join a trip?
We arrange trips for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups of any size, including fully private, customized itineraries. Larger groups may be split across multiple vehicles for comfort.
What's included in the price?
Typically accommodation, park entry fees, a professional guide, ground transport, and daily game drives or treks. Flights, visas, travel insurance, and personal expenses are usually separate - we'll give you a clear breakdown for your specific trip.
Is airport transfer included?
Airport pickup and drop-off are included as standard on most itineraries. We'll confirm this - along with your pickup time and driver details - once your trip is booked.
What vaccinations or health prep do I need?
Yellow fever vaccination is required for entry into several East African countries, and we recommend consulting your doctor about malaria prophylaxis and routine vaccinations well before departure.
