Day 1: Kigali – Kigali Genocide Memorial
Arrive in Kigali and begin your Rwandan journey in the capital. Set among rolling hills and forested ridges, Kigali is a lively and beautifully maintained city, with a growing collection of cafés, boutiques and cultural spaces.
Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important place of remembrance dedicated to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The memorial’s exhibitions provide context on the events that shaped modern Rwanda, while personal testimonies and stories of survivors offer a moving perspective on the country’s journey of resilience and renewal.

Days 2–3: Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Trekking
Travel north into the spectacular landscapes of Volcanoes National Park, where a chain of volcanic peaks rises above dense montane forest. The park is home to mountain gorillas as well as the elusive golden monkey, making it one of Rwanda’s most remarkable wildlife destinations.
Your gorilla trekking experience begins early, with experienced guides and trackers leading you into the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The hike can take several hours depending on where the gorillas are located and the terrain you encounter along the way.
Once you find the gorillas, spend a memorable hour observing them as they feed, interact and move through the forest. Encounters are conducted under strict guidelines designed to protect both visitors and the gorillas, creating an intimate yet respectful wildlife experience.

Day 4: Kigali – Departure

The Genocide Memorial left us silent for hours, and then two days later we were sitting quietly a few meters from a silverback in the Virunga mist - two ends of Rwanda's story, both handled with extraordinary care. One&Only Gorilla's Nest was reason enough to return alone. This is how a short trip should feel: complete, not rushed.
