Amboseli's Gentle Giants With a Kilimanjaro Backdrop
Migration Country Awaits Millions on the Move
Great Migration, Kenya & Tanzania
(Trip Overview)
Few natural events rival the scale of what unfolds across Kenya and Tanzania each year, as millions of wildebeest and zebra move in search of fresh grass and water, trailed relentlessly by Africa's great predators. The journey opens among the elephant-filled plains of Amboseli beneath Kilimanjaro, before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, and finally arriving in migration country itself: six nights split between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, timed to place travelers at the heart of one of the most dramatic wildlife events on earth. Every element of the experience is created for proximity and understanding rather than distance. Specially designed safari vehicles offer unobstructed views for spotting the Big Five, while experienced guides bring a depth of tracking knowledge that turns each game drive into something closer to narrative than sightseeing. Beyond the migration itself, visits to a Maasai village and a local market add contrast and context - a glimpse of both traditional and contemporary East African life alongside the wilderness. Flights between destinations keep the journey efficient, maximizing time in the bush over time in transit, while the final three nights beside the Mara River at Olonana Lodge offer a fittingly serene close to a trip defined by movement and momentum. For travelers seeking not just wildlife, but one of nature's most extraordinary and time-sensitive events, this itinerary delivers a rare, front-row seat to migration country at its most alive. Nothing prepares you for the scale of it - wildebeest stretching to the horizon, predators shadowing every move, and our guides reading it all like a language only they understood. Six nights split between the Serengeti and the Mara meant we were never rushed away from the action, and ending at Olonana beside the Mara River was the perfect quiet close to something so overwhelming. This wasn't just a safari, it was witnessing history repeat itself.
